Islamabad is fastest growing in terms of population, economy and urban development and is fast becoming a truly metropolitan city which is visited by vast number of travellers from across the world. Shah Faisal Mosque:-Designed by Turkish architect Vedat Dalokay and named after late King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, Shah Faisal Mosque is a landmark of city. Spreading across 1, 89,705 Sq Km, the main prayer hall can accommodate 10,000 persons while covered porticos and verandahs can take over 24,000 worshipers at a time. The main courtyard has space for 40,000 people. Shah Faisal Mosque is a combination of Mughal, Arabic, Turkish & Arabic architecture is a great place to visit and is among the major attractions of city.

Daman-e-Koh:-It is a low peak hilltop that has become a popular spot for picnics is among the much visited sites of city. The whole city can be viewed from here. Even the Rawal Dam Lake can also be seen from here. The place is an ideal spot to enjoy picnics with family and friends.

Rawal Lake:-This man-made lake covers area of 8.8 square kilometer and adjoins the Shakarparian hills is quite a popular venue to enjoy family picnics. A dam was built on this lake across Korang River in 1962 called Rawal Dam. The highest point in the garden offers great views of lake along with Margalla and Murree hills.

Lok Virsa Museum and Heritage Library:- The museum located in Lok Virsa complex is a must visit by all tourists coming to Islamabad. The visitors to it will find a beautiful presentation of Pakistan culture of various ages. At times guests will feel that the museum has been organized and laid out on the line of Dubai Museum and some finds it even better. Here you will find some handicrafts shops selling local garments and souvenirs at the entrance. Since the cameras are not allowed thus you may find many photographs.

Blue Area:- it is one of the commercial and business areas of city. It is named as Blue Area because it was represented in blue color in original design of planned city. Recently the construction began on the Centaurus , a multi- purpose complex in the blue Area which include various residential complexes ,office towers and luxury hotels along with many tall skyscrapers.
