The metro bus project for Rawalpindi & Islamabad started with the aim to provide a convenient & safe transportation to the public of twin cities.The main reason behind metro bus project according authority is the growing population of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and visitors from surrounding areas and to control the heavy burden on Murree road.Main source of transportation of people was private transportation but the metro bus would be the first organised transportation between twin cities.The project so far is providing timing and reliable services to the people of the city.

Environmental issue
Despite all the facilities the project criticized by people because according they this project is the violation of Islamabad master plan and also not according to the safety of the environment of the city. and the project cost expensive and no safety rules adopted during construction of MB project.
The authority claimed an elaborate environmental monitoring management plan will be enforced for the project, with one percent of the Rs27.3 million project’s budget to be spent on environment protection.

After start up of the project the fair construction exposed by rains when the stops of the bus were flooded by rain water. It would be said that this project constructed on the development budget of other parts of the province but it very facilitate the people of twin cities.
